The research centre primarily runs with the devoted support of three persons Professor Sanjoy Bandopadhyay, the Director and the two Honorary Project Associates Dr. Krishnendu Dutta and Arpita Chatterjee.
Professor Sanjoy Bandopadhyay is the Ustad Alauddin Khan Professor of Instrumental Music at the Rabindra Bharati University. Dr. Krishnendu Dutta joined the SM Tagore Centre of Research as a Project Associate during mid November, 2009. Earlier he worked in a project for Leipzig University, Germany. He has been assisting Professor Sanjoy Bandopadhyay, Director & Ustad Allauddin Khan Professor, SMTC-DRLOMI for about a year in different research projects including the Making of Esraj project.
Krishnendu was Editor for several Music Journals and also worked as a Music Critic for Dainik Bartaman, the leading Bengali daily.
Arpita Chatterjee has taken up the responsibility of Project Associate at the Research Centre. Arpita was the In-charge of Academic Research Department at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. She was also a research consultant to EMRC, Kolkata. She was attached to a number of multimedia academic projects.
